Dirty air filter


Ambient temperature is too high


Obstructed ventilation grate


Broken fan

Clean the air filter as described in the manual on page 18. If you do not have a manual available, see our manuals and documentation page. 


Lower the ambient temperature to slow 95°F / 35°C.


Remove the obstruction or create a ventilation hole as described on page 18 of your manual. If you do not have a manual available, see our manuals and documentation page.

UV lamp

Replace the UV lamp with an appropriate TECO UV replacement.

Water temperature probe has been damaged

Compressor overload probe is damaged

Check the air filter. Check that ventilation fans are turning. Contact Service at service@tecoponics.com

Temperature display is not correct

Water is losing or gaining heat through long and/or un-insulated tubing

Reduce the length of the tubing.

Display does not light up

No electricity

Check that the power supply cable is correctly connected to both the chiller and the outlet. Check that the power switch is on. Check that the fuse is intact.

Water flow through chiller has slowed

Calcium build-up

Disconnect the chiller from the aquarium. Run a 50% solution of vinegar and water through the chiller for 24 hours to dissolve the build-up. Thoroughly flush the chiller with Ro/DI before connecting the aquarium.
